José Victoriano González, who later becomes Juan Gris, was born in Madrid in 1887. He abandons his prior engineering studies, to begin in 1904 his studies at the School of Art and Manufacture of Madrid, and devotes himself to painting. His first works are inspired by the ‘Jugendstil’ (current German Art Nouveau) that the of the art world of Madrid . . .
