Jean Dewasne was born in Lille in 1921. He is considered as one of the masters of constructive abstraction. In 1950 with Edgar Pillet, he sets up the abstract art workshop in Paris. After thorough classical and musical studies, Jean Dewasne registers at the Fine Arts Institute in Paris where during two years he first goes around architect's studios before moving towards painting.
