Biography of Ho Kan
Ho Kan is an artist born in 1932 in Nanjing (Nanking, China). As a child, he smears on the walls of the family home. . . which earns him some punishment. In elementary school already, he is noted for his artistic talent and often gets top marks. Following the death of his father, the year of his 10 years, Ho Kan returns to live with his grandfather, a calligrapher of renown who influences him greatly in his artistic development. He goes to Taipei in 1949 and the following year, he is admitted to the Arrts Department of the Normal School.
He learns a lot about the artistic theories and studies Western painting, which leads him to devote himself to modern art. Since 1955, Ho Kan studies surrealism and cubism. Ink sketches, oil paintings and pastels then form the bulk of his work. At the same time, in 1957, Ho Kan becomes one of the founders of "Ton-Fan", which is considered the first association of Modern Art in China. Since then, this association organizes exhibitions every year, in which participates Ho Kan until 1965, when he leaves for Europe. After a stopover in Paris, he moves to Milan.

Artists on display
The art and the artists display: proclamations, galleries, museums, personal or collective exhibitions. On walls or in shop windows, wise or rebels, posters warn, argue, show. Some were specially conceived by an artist for such or such event, other, colder, have only the letter.
Some were created in lithographic technic, most are simple offset reproductions. They are many those who like collecting these rectangles of paper, monochrome or in games of colours, in matt paper or brilliant, with many words or almost dumb.
We are happy also to be able to greet, by this pages, mythical galleries as those of Denise René, Louis Carré, Claude Bernard, Berheim Jeune, Maeght, Pierre Loeb and others.
