Biography of Guido Biasi
The Italian artist Guido Biasi, active in France since 1967, is born in Naples in 1933. A graduate from the School of Fine Arts of his hometown, he undertakes in 1953, with his friend Mario Colucci, to meet Enrico Baj in Milan. In 1957, he signs the Manifesto for organic paintings (with Colucci, Piero Manzoni, Sordini and Verga) and, that same year writes the Manifesto of Albisola Marina that includes the same artists. Guido Biasi works in 1958, at the founding of the "Group 58" and the Neapolitan review " South Document " relating to it (of which he is director); he writes the first manifesto of the group, document that is the link with the Milan nuclear movement. Biasi keeps alive the links with the Italians avant-garde. He participates in the exhibition of Surrealism in New York (1960, 1961). In 1965, his most important personal exhibition is held in Rome (at the Levante Gallery). The works of Guido Biasi, based on a subjective impressionistic, develop a visionaries world and climate, fed with his own memories, hence the title of Mnemotech he attributes to them. Speaking of him, one can cited Paul Klee: "I do not paint the visible, I make it visible." Guido Biasi settles permanently in Paris in 1967. He then exhibits regularly in collective events (Biennial of Sao Paulo, Young Painting Salons, Comparisons, Salon of May, etc.). The artist works with reviews "Phases" and "Edda". His art has become very sophisticated and mature, yet he exhibits in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Brussels. This "heretic of the Art" disappears in Paris in 1983.
