Edouard Vuillard was born in Cuiseaux, France in 1868. He studied at the Fine Arts School in Paris from 1887-1888, then frequented the Julian Academy from 1888-1889, with his childhood friend Ker Xavier Roussel. Some are however "forgotten" of postal art. Here, gathered below (French or foreign), emitted stamps (206) or simple studies of stamp (224) in homage to the artists represented on our website. The first French stamp was emitted in 1849, England preceded us by ten years. There is often a share of voyage in this small form of shape paper. The stamp circulates, sails, flies away, it makes dream, then dream a little. M.C.

En Juin 1940, Edouard Vuillard est si malade que même Maurice Denis ne peut le voir. Les évènements extérieurs l'inquiètent. Ses forces l'abandonnent. Il est transporté à la Baule où il meurt le 21 Juin 1940 à huit heures du matin. Vuillard repose au cimetière des Batignolles, (Porte de Clichy, Paris), un parc ombragé de quelque neuf cents arbres. La fleur d’un laurier dont on fait les couronnes, en hommage à sa mémoire.
