The painter Christian Bouillé was born in Montereau in 1948. He belongs to the movement of narrative figuration. He had a difficult childhood and adolescence. He read Rimbaud, copied the great masters (Leonardo da Vinci, Delacroix, Jerome Bosch, etc.). The discovery of the "Manifesto of Surrealism", when he was only 17 years old, was a real shock. He wanted only one thing: to be a painter. Christian Bouillé will live and work in Nogent-sur-Marne from 1985. His work, with a surrealist tendency and which oscillates between the mirage and the dream, always has an unexpected and unreal character whatever the treated subject. He was a fervent follower of mixed techniques. Through his techniques of collage, erasure resulting from a rubbing or the passage of a windshield wiper, his subjects give the impression of being diluted in his painting. Christian Bouillé has participated in numerous group exhibitions in France and sometimes abroad; he has also shown his work on numerous occasions in personal exhibitions not only in Parisian galleries but also in the provinces (Cherbourg, Saint-Lô, Montbéliard, etc.). We note the article by Alain Jouffroy on the painter ("Alors vite! Christien Bouillé", in Opus International n°105, 1987), a poet who will become an unfailing friend and whom he will illustrate many years later ("Odieux les dieux, joyeux les yeux", Ed. Le Grand Pirate, 1998). The artist also realized murals, as well as scenographies. The painter will have had a very personal visual language, narrative and symbolic. The depression will win his soul. Christian Bouillé disappeared in his studio in La Varenne in the summer of 2005.

Artists on display
The art and the artists display: proclamations, galleries, museums, personal or collective exhibitions. On walls or in shop windows, wise or rebels, posters warn, argue, show. Some were specially conceived by an artist for such or such event, other, colder, have only the letter.
Some were created in lithographic technic, most are simple offset reproductions. They are many those who like collecting these rectangles of paper, monochrome or in games of colours, in matt paper or brilliant, with many words or almost dumb.
We are happy also to be able to greet, by this pages, mythical galleries as those of Denise René, Louis Carré, Claude Bernard, Berheim Jeune, Maeght, Pierre Loeb and others.
