César Baldaccini was born in Marseille in 1921. At the age of 12, he left the school to help his father, cooper. At 15 years old, he studied at the Art college of Marseille. He took evening drawing teachings, and then was interested in sculpture until 1939. In 1942, César received a scholarship and went to Paris. Stamp by Baldaccini César
The publication of a postal stamp is often a homage paid by a nation to a place, an event, a remarkable cause or a character which count. The painters and other artists do not escape from this rule. Some are however "forgotten" of postal art. Here, gathered below (French or foreign), emitted stamps (206) or simple studies of stamp (224) in homage to the artists represented on our website. The first French stamp was emitted in 1849, England preceded us by ten years. There is often a share of voyage in this small form of shape paper. The stamp circulates, sails, flies away, it makes dream, then dream a little. M.C.

César est mort à Paris le 6 décembre 1998. L’homme qui avait « l’instinct du fer », repose au cimetière Montparnasse (Division 3, XIVe arrondissement, Paris) sous un Centaure, hommage à Picasso que l’artiste avait réalisé au début des années 80. Nous avons choisi le fruit du pissenlit, dont la fleur sauvage certes, est madrée par le talent qu’elle met à paraître et à se multiplier.
