Biography of Andy Warhol
Andrew Warhola later known as Andy Warhol was born in 1928 in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, United States). He settles in New York in 1949 and starts working as a commercial draughtsman for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar and as a decorator for window display in a big store. In 1952, his first exhibit is organized by the Hugo Gallery in New York. Between 1953 and 1955, he becomes costumes designer in a theater company; then starts wearing a platinum wig that will make him recognizable. After several advertising and exhibitions experiences, he realizes in 1960 his first paintings inspired by american comics. In 1962, Wharol joins Roy Lichtenstein, Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, and others at The New Realists exhibit, a major event in Pop Art, of which he is real pioneer. He starts painting his first Campbell's soup cans and Dollars, doing his first serigraphies on American stars. From then on, thanks to his work as a painter, a music producer, an author, thanks to his underground movies and his famous acquaintances (intellectuals, Hollywood stars and rich upper-class) Andy Wharol's success will keep on increasing. The artist dies in 1987 in New York.

I like being the right person in the wrong place and the wrong person in the right place. Andy Warhol
A tribute to Andy Warhol
Me voilà. Il n'y a rien dessous." - Andy Wahrol
- Andy Wahrol

Artists on display
The art and the artists display: proclamations, galleries, museums, personal or collective exhibitions. On walls or in shop windows, wise or rebels, posters warn, argue, show. Some were specially conceived by an artist for such or such event, other, colder, have only the letter.
Some were created in lithographic technic, most are simple offset reproductions. They are many those who like collecting these rectangles of paper, monochrome or in games of colours, in matt paper or brilliant, with many words or almost dumb.
We are happy also to be able to greet, by this pages, mythical galleries as those of Denise René, Louis Carré, Claude Bernard, Berheim Jeune, Maeght, Pierre Loeb and others.
