  Biography of Graphito Speedy

   Pseudonym of Olivier Rizzo, Speedy Graphito was born in 1961. He studied art at the Ecole Estienne in Paris. After a brief career as an advertising art director, he joined the X-Moulinex collective in 1983, leaving the following year. Two years later, in 1983, he took part in the first gathering of the graffiti and urban art movement in Bondy. His graffiti, executed with stencils or brushes, depict dynamic, schematic characters. Speedy Graphito is a very active multimedia artist, exploring painting, sculpture, photography, video art and digital art. As a performer, he also paints numerous walls and canvases live for festivals and exhibitions. Over the past 10 years, his work has been influenced by pop iconography such as comic books, Disney, advertising brands and video games. In 2014, Speedy Graphito exhibited with Jean-Jacques Deleval e Errot at the Arsenal de Soisson. Its growing success confirms that urban art is taking an important place in the contemporary art market. In 2016, a retrospective of his work was organized at the Musée du Touquet.
