Francisco Toledo was born in 1940 in Oaxaca, Mexico. He attended the School of Fine Arts in his native city, then the Superior Center of Applied Arts of the Mexican National Institute of Fine Arts, where he studied graphic arts with Silva Santamaria. Francisco Toledo expresses his art through various media: pottery, ceramics, sculpture, tapestry, graphic art (engraving and lithography) and painting. Solo exhibitions have been held in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, the UK, Belgium, France, Japan, Sweden, the USA and many other countries.
