En bilingue français-anglais, le catalogue raisonné des estampes d’Arman, établi en collaboration par Jane Otmezguine et Marc Moreau, a été publié en 1990 par les Editions Marval à Paris. Ce travail de référence sur l’artiste des Nouveaux réalistes dans le domaine de l’art graphique porte sur une période de 30 ans de création, de 1960 à 1990. Les auteurs répertorient 284 références d’œuvres imprimées sur papier, dont de nombreuses avec variantes : lithographies, sérigraphies, gravures – pointes-sèches, eaux-fortes, gaufrages -, photogravures, etc. En fin d’ouvrage, sont répertoriées les œuvres réalisées par Arman dans le cadre de la bibliophilie (albums, portefeuilles, livres illustrés, livres-objets, etc.), domaine d’expression qui passionna l’artiste. Arman n’a jamais prétendu être lithographe, graveur ou sérigraphe, il a toujours insisté avant tout sur la qualité du plaisir éprouvé à la création. Lorsqu’Arman parlait de ses estampes, c’était pour souligner leur abondance qui revêt un caractère « orgiaque », comme une fête solennelle et excessive. On retrouve dans ce domaine, comme dans ses autres modes d’expressions, les thèmes récurrents de l’artiste : les accumulations, les violons, les colères, les empreintes.
