Biography of Emilio Tadini
Umberto Eco says from Emilio Tadini he is "a writer who paints, a painter who writes." Born in Milan in 1927, Tadini is a painter, sculptor and renowned poet, performing over time a real cultural osmosis between different disciplines. His literary activity begins in the late '40s, Tadini publishes then essays, novels, poems and monologues. The "painter" begins in the 50s, falling on the art scene in a style completely autonomous, to express thereafter more realistically, before joining an art characterized as informal. He exhibits his first works in the 60s, attending the Venice Biennial in 1978 and 1982. The early recognition of his painting comes with his participation to the collective art of Marconi Studio (Mario Schifano, Valerio Adami, Lucio Del Pezzo). Emilio Tadini is also a playwright, art and literature critic for the respected newspaper "Corriere della Sera". In 2001, a retrospective of his work is held in Milan. Emilio Tadini dies in Milan in 2002.
