Writer and poet, she published several novels as well as collections of poems and short stories. A former lecturer in Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle, she is involved in academic research and published a few literary essays (L’Harmattan, Honoré Champion, Brill/Rodopi, Garnier) as well as papers in reviews. She translated the poems of Robert Graves, Stevie Smith and Vincent O’Sullivan. She is also painter, engraver and draughtswoman. She practises oil-painting, pastel, gouache; she likes drawing and sketching; as an engraver she uses dry-point. She prints mainly cats, nudes and landscapes.
Anne Mounic admires Pierre Bonnard; she has never been disappointed by the exhibitions in the Pierre Bonnard Museum (Le Cannet). She loves Franz Marc’s paintings of animals and remembers with wonder a series of dry-point prints by Marc Chagall, which she discovered in an exhibition at the Chiostro del Bramante, in Rome. She also mentions Otto Dix and his extraordinary prints on the Great War; she wrote poems on Guy Braun’s prints about the same subject. She also names Marie Laurencin, Zao Wou Ki, Nicolas de Staël and two poets, Paul Éluard and René Char.
Anne Mounic has exhibited her paintings and prints since 1980, in collective (Südwest LB Druckgrafik Kunstpreis, Stuttgart en1997 - Salon des Artistes Français - Salon d’Automne - Biennales de Lorient - Biennales de Trace) or personal exhibitions (Galerie de l’Ecume - Château de Sédières, année du patrimoine, et Château de Vals, Corrèze - Espace A.M.O.R.C. - Galerie ARCIMA, Centre culturel de la Poterne des Peupliers - Galerie Etienne de Causans - Galerie des éditions Caractères, Paris).
Since February 2006, Guy Braun and Anne Mounic have been publishing (twice a year) the international literary and artistic review on line Temporel. In October 2017, the 24th issue came out. She is also co-editor of Peut-être, a yearly review of the Association des Amis de l’Œuvre de Claude Vigée, in which some space is given to artists (Devorah Boxer, Michèle et Rémi Joffrion, Judith Rothchild, Isabelle Valdelièvre, Louis-Albert Demangeon, Louise Hervieu, among others), printers especially. Besides, the society Atelier GuyAnne publishes books which combine literary and poetic expression with artistic works.
