Born in Mantanzas (Cuba) in 1927, Augustin Cardenas (Agustn Crdenas) studied at the Fine Arts Academy of San Alejandro between 1943 and 1949. Arriving in Paris in 1955, he sets up in Montparnasse. The painter-sculptor is very quickly revealed by Andr Breton who was seduced by his spiritual, poetical and sensual work. Augustin Cardenas is introduced to the last group of
