His personal style, yet deliberately abstract, brings him quickly international acclaim. He receives several renowned awards and great personal and collective exhibitions in China as in Europe or the United States are consecrated to his art. The artist works on series that mark a profound reflection on the existence of being and a true introspection («Life», the «Gestation», «Growth» etc). The style of Tan Ping is gestural and his profound and enigmatic works have an important narrative component. « In all my works, there is a strong story and this story can be perceived by the viewer as a feeling. Without this emotion, my works are in fact without life » says Tan Ping.
