Marcel Fiorini was born in 1922 in Guelma (Algeria). Very young, he starts painting et tries etching by using products from his father’s drugstore. He goes to the Fine Arts School in Alger (1940-1942). In 1947, his family settles in France. Painter of the new School of Paris, he is recognized for his etching works and for new processes in etching he develops such as " taille-douce " on wood, linoleum and plaster. Fiorini is friend with Roger Chastel and Roger Bissière after whom he realizes -starting from 1952- etchings as well as for Bertholle, Tobey, Vieira da Silva or Jacques Villon. From 1948, he takes part in the Réalités Nouvelles Show, in the May show and to young contemporary etchers exhibitions. He teaches etching at the Higher National School of Fine Arts in Paris. Marcel Fiorini dies in 2008 in Bois-le-Roi.
