Biography : Jean Laboureur was born in Nantes (France) in 1877. Very young he had a gift for drawing, but he studied Law to Paris. Meanwhile, he learned engraving with Auguste Lepère and lithography with Toulouse-Lautrec (1895-1898). Laboureur said about engraving "a drawing voluntarily made with the harshness of the tool used", he . . . . (see notes of biography)
