Henry Moore was born in Castelford (England) in 1898. He was the seventh in a miner family of eight children. After being demobilized- he was a soldier in the North of France during the first world war-he studied the sculpture at the Leeds School of Art, then at the Royal College in London from 1920 to 1924.
