Arpad Szenes is born in Budapest (Hungary) in 1897. He will be one of the most visible representatives of the Ecole de Paris, a group of artists, often very different from one another, who worked in Paris during the forties and avowed a “non-figurative” style of painting. The publication of a postal stamp is often a homage paid by a nation to a place, an event, a remarkable cause or a character which count. The painters and other artists do not escape from this rule. Some are however "forgotten" of postal art. Here, gathered below (French or foreign), emitted stamps (206) or simple studies of stamp (224) in homage to the artists represented on our website. The first French stamp was emitted in 1849, England preceded us by ten years. There is often a share of voyage in this small form of shape paper. A tribute to Arpad Szenes

Né à Budapest (Hongrie) le 6 mai 1897, Arpad Szenes s'éteint dans son atelier à Paris le 16 janvier 1985. Sa dernière demeure se situe dans le petit cimetière de Yèvre-le Chatel (Loiret) où reposent aussi sa femme, Vieira da Silva (morte à Paris, le 6 mars 1992), et la mère de celle-ci. En hommage à sa mémoire, à leur mémoire, avec respect, un couple de roses.
