Biography :Andre Derain was born in Chatou, near Paris, in 1880. He learnt painting with Jacomin’s painter and went regularly to the Academy Camillo (Paris, 1898). In 1900, he bound a friendship with Maurice de Vlaminck and the two friends shared a same atelier in the island of Chatou. He painted realistic landscapes then.
